Married At First Sight season 18 hasn’t felt quite as long-spanning as some of the most recent seasons, many have been struggling to understand the timeline of the show’s filming and wondering when the reunion episodes will film. Throughout Married At First Sight season 18, viewers have been watching as the couples have navigated through the experiment. With a particularly tough season under their feet, the MAFS season 18 cast has been struggling to build their connections and strengthen them as they move forward in the experiment. With the MAFS experts more absent than ever, the season has felt strange.
The Married At First Sight season 18 cast has been having a tough time with their connections as they’ve moved through the experiment. Despite knowing that their matches were made by the MAFS experts, the cast has been having a difficult time trusting in their partnerships. The Married At First Sight experts, comprised of Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Dr. Pia Holec, and Pastor Cal Roberson, have been struggling with their success rate on the show for years, but even though MAFS season 18 was supposed to help fix their metrics, the show’s next Decision Day appears it’ll be dicey at best.
MAFS Season 18’s Structure
Things Have Been A Bit Different

Although Married At First Sight season 18 hasn’t been an easy season for the series, the show hasn’t been having the easiest time keeping the couples together or maintaining their relationships. MAFS season 18’s structure has been somewhat odd in terms of expert involvement, as well as the actual episode order itself. Though it’s not entirely clear how many episodes of the series there will be this season, there’s been a fairly long hiatus this season for the holidays that viewers didn’t anticipate.

Throughout Married At First Sight season 18, viewers have had fairly regular episodes, but many noticed that the experts have been largely absent from the season. Dr. Pepper, Dr. Pia, and Pastor Cal were barely in the first stretch of episodes after the season’s matchmaking special, and have appeared far less than viewers anticipated this season overall. With the experts seemingly hiding in plain sight, it’s been a strange season of MAFS for viewers.
When Was MAFS Season 18 Filmed?
The Show Filmed In 2023
Although Married At First Sight season 18 premiered in 2024, the season actually filmed an entire year prior to the season beginning to air. Filmed in the fall of 2023, Married At First Sight typically films much further out than it airs. In a recent episode of MAFS, Emem Obot was showing some of the texts she sent to her husband Ikechi Ojoré during a difficult moment in their relationship. The texts were shown to be sent in September 2023, which was about three weeks before the end of filming, meaning MAFS season 18 filmed from July to October 2023.
When Is The MAFS Season 18 Finale
& When Is The Reunion?
Although Married At First Sight season 18 feels like there’s so much left, there are only a few short weeks left of the experiment, meaning there should only be about a month left remaining in the season. While MAFS season 18’s Decision Day still has yet to come into play, it’s definitely in the near-future. Though it’s not entirely confirmed when Married At First Sight season 18’s finale is, the episode and reunion should be coming soon. Typically, Married At First Sight spans about 20 episodes, meaning there could be as many as eight episodes left, but likely around five.
Married At First Sight airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on Lifetime.

At the end of eight weeks, couples will decide to stay married or divorce.
