Wests Tigers chief executive Shane Richardson has extraordinarily intervened in Benji Marshall and Api Koroisau’s post-match press conference to try and shut down a journalist’s question about Lachlan Galvin.
But the journo wouldn’t be silenced and finished his question to Koroisau who did his best to dead bat it before Marshall rejected the next one.

Marshall admitted earlier in the presser that it had been a big week “for the whole club” in the wake of Galvin’s bombshell announcement that he’d be leaving in 2026.
Tigers co-captains Koroisau and Jarome Luai slammed their teenage teammate at press conference on Thursday before Galvin’s camp then sent the club a legal letter that made accusations of bullying.
“Api, how important is it you block out this Lachie Galvin drama moving forward? And I take it…,” the journalist said before Richardson tried to cut him off.
“Richo it’s a legitimate question, I just want to know. It’s been a big story, Benji just said himself it’s been a tough week… how is it you don’t let this affect the boys going into next Sunday?”
“We get together, we’re here to play footy, we just have to focus on that,” Koroisau responded.
Koroisau admitted at his press conference on Thursday that he hadn’t spoken to Galvin since his announcement 72 hours earlier.

On Sunday, Fox League sideline reporter Lara Pitt then asked: “Will the playing group allow Lachie back in this week? Benji?”
Marshall hit back with “they never left him out” before Pitt reminded the coach of Koroisau’s admission on Thursday.
“I saw them at training, training pretty well with him and mixed in, so I don’t think there was a drama,” Marshall said.
NRL 360 ran the presser live and host Braith Anasta was left stunned by Richardson’s actions.
“Well you don’t see that too often, Tigers CEO Shane Richardson jumping into the press conference telling Benj and Api not to comment on the Galvin situation. That’s highly unusual,” Anasta said.

But veteran journalist Phil Rothfield said it was likely for legal reasons.
“I would suggest it’s a legal issue, I would suggest he’s been briefed by his lawyers not in any way to take questions on the action Isaac Moses and young Galvin are taking,” Rothfield said.
“In the heat of the moment you can say something that’s not going to help your case. They’ve played it safety first.”
